Basics of AR Navigation

we will meet at the Placitas Silver mine trailhead parking area. To reach it take I-25 to Placitas, then exit at the Placitas/Bernalillo turnoff. Turn East at the stop light and go approx 2.4 miles. You will pass a strip shopping center on your left, then go approximately .5 miles and turn right at the dirt road. Go about 150 yards. This clinic is for the beginner AR who wants to learn the basics about Navigation, compass, reading maps, and learning to route find. Clinic will last about 4 hours so bring enough food, water, and warm clothing. You will be hiking about 2 - 3 miles during the four hours. If you have a compass and UTM grid bring them. I will have some extras. Plan on learning a lot and having fun.
