About Us

At this time, this Halaqa is for Sisters Only. However, the occasional co-ed event will be held. You can email mona@cape.com to be put on the mailing list for special convert events.

Please join us at our weekly Thursday Halaqa, new and seasoned Muslims welcome!

Attending the Halaqa

Please enter the building through the sisters' entrance. We meet in the library which is upstairs at the back of the prayer hall.

At this time we ask that young children not attend due to the distraction. Unfortunately we no longer have child care available.

If you like you may bring a snack to share. Please make sure it is halal and does not contain gelatin or any other potentially questionable ingredient. If your food items contains common allergic items such as nuts or sesame, please make sure you label as such to avoid any food emergencies :)

About WIC

Our meetings are at WIC WORCESTER Islamic Center in the upstairs library. When you enter you can go up the black granite steps and you will find the library at the back of the prayer hall.

Non-Muslims wishing to learn more about Islam are also welcome.  Please observe modest dress and refrain from smoking, wearing perfume, or intoxicants.  You may read more about mosque etiquette on the WIC website: http://www.wicmasjid.org/aboutus/index/etiquettes.

Non-Muslims are also welcome to observe the congregation in prayer from the seated or standing area located at the back of the prayer room.

Newcomers, New Muslims, and Non-Muslims

If you are new and would like an in-person 1 on 1 meeting please contact me at mona@cape.com to schedule an appointment that suits your schedule. I'm happy to answer all your questions about Islam (to the best of my ability), address personal concerns, and/or teach you the basics of practicing your new faith. I do give "how to pray" lessons to ladies who desire them. If I cannot answer your question - as I do not know everything myself - I will make sure to find someone who can answer your question and follow up with you.

We try our very best to be open and welcoming at our group. If you have had a bad experience somewhere else, please give us a chance!

Looking forward to seeing you insha Allah...

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
