Hard to believe it's been a year since we started getting together! It's been great getting to know you and hearing about the exciting stuff happening in the Central PA tech community.
As you may know, CoTweet recently received series A funding and Aaron, Kyle and I are moving to the San Francisco bay area. As much as we love Central PA, this opportunity requires that we be in the bay area--close to Twitter and other companies in the Twitter ecosystem, and close to our investors.
I leave the group in John Caddell's capable hands. John has been organizing the meetups during the past few months as CoTweet has had us on the road. I know John will do a great job continuing to build the group. Please support John by bringing cool stuff to present to the group and inviting others with cool stuff to present.
I'd like to thank Josh Babetski from MapQuest, Ryan Riley from HU and Laura Butcher and Linda Garisto from HCAR for graciously hosting our meetings during our first year. Also, thanks to Melissa Gilbert who hosted our very first meeting at the Hershey Press building, which got us off to a great start. A meetup's nothing without a venue--without these folks' generosity and support, it just wouldn't have happened.
Thanks also to everyone that presented during our first year.
We'll be moving before the next meetup, so unfortunately we won't get to say goodbye in person.
I hope to hear great things about the group and that it continues to grow in the coming years.
Following the model of Scott Heiferman's wildly successful NY Tech Meetup, on the 1st Monday each month at 7PM, 3 people get 10 minutes each to demo something cool to Central PA's tech community (geeks, marketers, investors, entrepreneurs, etc). On occasion, we invite people to speak about other topics of interest to the startup community.
