What we’re about

Meet other local caving (i.e. spelunking) enthusiasts to discuss your love of the underground. Learn how to participate in caving adventures, whether locally on day trips, or in Pennsylvania and upstate New York on weekend trips, week long trips throughout the US, and longer expeditions throughout the world. Loaner equipment (helmets & head lamps) and training provided. We are a mixed group, ranging from those who explore simple cave systems without the aid of any special technical equipment and training, to those who use ropes to rappel into deep pits on the order of hundreds of feet in depth, and scuba to explore complicated underwater passages on the order of miles in length. We also have members who specialise in such things as cave biology, photography, archeology and cartography. While some of our members are new to caving, others have been involved in it for well over 20 to 30 years. And while some spend most of their time doing day trips to local caves, others devote their time to traveling to remote areas around the world for weeks at a time, under the most extreme of conditions. Note: Meetings monthly the 4th Wednesday.
