This group is for people who want to hang out in New York City on weekends. It will be ideal for New Yorkers just looking for something to do, for business travelers, for tourists, and for people who have pied-à-terres in Manhattan.  Everyone is welcome!

Except for the introductory meetup at Eataly, there will be a "no guests" policy.  Everyone who attends must have a meetup account.  The goal is to meet and mingle with new people. 

I want to have a moderately active group that plans a large variety of activities. Most events will be in Manhattan but some will also be organized in the outer boroughs.

I got this idea from a friend who lived out of town but spent every weekend in Manhattan. It will complement other meetups groups in the city that have great events but focus more on the work week.

Suggestions and advice are welcome....

Do to popular demand (primarily from the older members) some meetups will be geared towards specific age groups. 

No one will check your ID.  This will be strictly based on the "honor system". 

These events will most likely begin in the springtime when the group is large enough to make this idea realistic.  Furthermore, I will need volunteers to host the events for older members and I would prefer to have met each volunteer before the meetup that s/he hosts.
