NOTE: This event is weather dependent and will be canceled if raining or cloudy.
If you have other suggestions on the locations and time, please let me or one of the event organizers know. Please make sure you can attend the event before signing up. :-)
Equipment to bring: DSLR or mirrorless camera, a cable release (not wireless and doesn't need to have timer), ultra-wide or wide angle lens, a good/heavy tripod, flash light, and... food/drinks?!
Note: Most Point & Shoot cameras don't allow you to use a cable release, and the sensors may be too small for shooting stars with high ISO settings. Also, please become familiar with the buttons on your camera - since we will be working in the dark!

DATE: Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 - No moonlight at all!
TIME: Please plan to arrive at the Park around 4:30pm. The gate at the Park will close at 5pm. Yes, we can leave the Park after (probably between 10pm - midnight). :-)
LOCATION: Bogue Chitto State Park, 6 miles south of Franklinton, LA (Washington Parish). Two locations within the Park - Interpretive ground and day use area. The Park can send a ranger to accompany the group and assist the group for special needs. http://www.crt.state.la.us/parks/iboguechitto.aspx
TRANSPORTATION: If we have enough people who would like to carpool, we can probably rent a van, meet at a place where everyone can park the cars, and drive up with the van.
FEE: $2 per person to enter the Park.
