Why: Expenses of running this group as well as meetup costs
Being an Organizer for 2 other groups has made me realize there's a demand for lessons/workshops for beginners. It has been my experience that most beginners feel intimidated because they don't own a DSLR, don't have the knowledge to compete with others, and feel left out of most activities with an established group.
This group is for those beginners who want to learn to become better photographers, but don't want to go to classes for whatever reason, be it money, intimidation, equipment or schedule.
You may use any kind of camera. All I ask is that you read your manual and have it handy because it would take too much of the class time for me to find all your settings for you. If you bought your camera used and don't have a manual, or if it's lost, you can download a manual for free from the manufacturer's site.
This group will meet 2-4 times per month (depending on popular vote) on location. We will have a 1 hr class and a 1 hr shoot to practice the new skills discussed at the meetup. Group members will also be given access to my main group, "Florida State Photographers Meetup Group" for free. You will be allowed to attend meetups with that group, have access to the Message Board and have access to the Photo Albums. In other words without having to pay an annual fee (I will mark your Membership Dues PAID), so you can enjoy all the benefits of being in that group.

* How to properly Expose your subject
* How to photograph in natural, available and artificial light
* How to use your flash--both on camera and off camera
* Portraiture
* Pet Photography
* Baby and Children photography
* Wedding photography
* Stock photography
* Action, Dance and Sports photography
* Macro photography
* Still Life, Landscape/Seascape and Fine Art photography
* Architectural photography
You will have weekly assignments, which the group will critique (suggestions for this will be discussed later)
You will be given handouts for all workshops.
No class will be mandatory to attend, and will be repeated for those who missed them at a future date.
Membership costs?
$20 annual membership with your first class free, plus $20 per workshop. There will be one free, no lesson meetup on a monthly basis.
