Nick Coons is the Libertarian candidate for Congress in Arizona's 5th District.
As a Libertarian, Nick Coons believes that every individual has the right to life, liberty, and justly-acquired property. These rights are inalienable; they are not given to us by our government. The only purpose of government is to protect these rights from force or fraud - nothing more.
These are the very principles that guided the actions of revoluntionaries when they declared independence from the British Crown in 1776, and encouraged the pens of the Framers of our Constitution at the Philadelphia Convention a decade later.
Over two hundred years later, our elected officials have lost sight of these principles. Instead of working to ensure our rights are preserved to the highest extent possible, they have wagered our rights in their unceasing quest for power and wealth. They have sacrificed our lives in the name us "justice" by sending us overseas to fight ceaseless wars; our liberty in the names of "security" and "morality" by monitoring our words and actions, putting bans on weapons, and legislating how we are to live our lives; and, our justly-acquired property in the name of "equality" by robbing us of a 1/3 of our wages every payday and seizing our land whenever the mood strikes them.
There is nothing "just" about murder, nothing "secure" about disarming your citizens, nothing "moral" about imposing your beliefs on others, and nothing "equitable" about theft.
We know this and yet we allow it to happen by electing the same individuals to office. Let's put a stop to it right here and work to get someone new into office.
Someone who believes in the principles that made this country not only possible but great for so long. Someone who actually says what he means and means what he says: Nick Coons!
