Ning has been working on its Analytics infrastructure since early 2007. Over the years, we've built a comprehensive system to aggregate and analyze data at a very large scale; on a daily basis, we handle billions of events and run thousands of jobs to serve both our internal and external Analytics needs.
Since last year, the Data Engineering team is working hard to further improve this pipeline by lowering the system latency to answer data questions in near real-time.
Led by Pierre-Alexandre Meyer, Ning's Analytics Architect, join us as we explain how we adapted our existing batch processing system to minimize the delay between user generated content and our BI tools, as well as how we monitor the Ning Platform via real-time stream analysis.
Pizza, beer and other refreshments will be served. We'll begin with a quick series of informal "Lightning Talks" -- guests can present active projects or interests they're working on. If you'd like to present, there's a spot to propose your topic when you RSVP. There will also be time to ask Ning's Engineering and Ops teams any burning questions you have! We look forward to seeing you at Ning HQ in downtown Palo Alto!
