Hi everyone,
We talk a lot about rationality at our meetings so I thought a lot of you might be interested in this series.  David Jones, a PSU grad student, is giving a series of talks on rationality.  They are currently at 6:30pm on Thursdays at the Innoblue Garage (http://innoblue.org) which is off the alley between the Frasier St. Garage and the building the Green Bowl is in.  (Innoblue is a place for entrepreneurs, DIY's, etc to work on projects, network, etc.)

Unfortunately it conflicts with our meetings, but we can still make a lot of them (they are also on the calendar on the Innoblue web site):
-How to Actually Change Your Mind - an introduction on why being able to change your mind is an extremely important skill
-Productivity and Scholarship - Results from research studies on procrastination and motivation
-Emotional Hacking and Behavior Modification - The seven plus two emotions and how to manipulate yourself using them
-Happiness - Research results on happiness: what works and what doesn't
-Cognitive Biases - The major pitfalls and how to start avoiding them
-The Technological Singularity - Arguments for its existence and likelihood
-Nutrition and Physical activity - High value and low time investment activities
...And others!
