What we’re about
State College Nonbelievers is a local chapter of Pennsylvania Nonbelievers Inc. We are committed to delivering information for rational and critical thinking. We welcome atheists, agnostics, unbelievers, secularists, humanists and those whose lives are guided by a human-centered morality, not dogma, to come join our lively discussions. Mission
We seek TO UNITE all nonbelievers in these common goals:
- TO EDUCATE ourselves and others in the deception and dangers inherent in belief in the supernatural and in the benefits to society, the family, and the individual that derive from rational thinking and the scientific method.
- TO PROMOTE skeptical thinking and non-belief, and the humanist values of moral excellence, altruism, integrity, honesty, and personal responsibility.
- TO ADVOCATE for civil rights and the principle of separation of church and state.
- TO CHALLENGE and to confront, if necessary, those who would impose their religious values or laws on others in our society.
PA Nonbelievers is primarily active in Central Pennsylvania – the York, Lancaster, Chambersburg, Lebanon, Harrisburg and now the State College areas. But, members and visitors are welcome from as far as you can stand to drive!
