I hope that you can appreciate that members who sign up for an event and then either 1) improperly cancel or 2) NO-SHOW, harm other members and the courses that we all love to play.
I am truly sorry but I must remind everyone that our policy is that members must cancel at least 2 full days before an event (ex. Wednesday evening before a Saturday event). NO-SHOW means signing up and failing to attend an event without canceling attendance at least 2 days prior to the event. In the event of an emergency, call or email your Event Organizer before the event.
When you sign up for an event and fail to show up, the course loses money. You hold a tee-time that the Course could have sold throughout the prior week. A member’s NO-SHOWING for the event makes the group and our organizers (who are volunteers) look incredibly bad. This impacts our reputation and ability to negotiate good rates and special events in the future for the entire group. In many cases, golfers on the waiting list are prevented from playing because attendees fail to update their status.
For events guaranteed by an Organizer, the Organizer is stuck paying for the NO-SHOW golfers fees. I am forced to inform everyone that members who improperly cancel an event (for example cancel after Wednesday evening for a Saturday event), or members that "NO-SHOW" will be added to a list of PRE-PAID members.
PRE-PAID MEMBER STATUS means that the golfer will need to pre-pay for events prior to being able to sign up for an event. Additionally, at the discretion of each Event Organizer, he or she may elect not to collect or process pre-payment in which case, pre-pay members will not be able to attend certain events at all at the discretion of the Event Organizer.
Therefore, I truly appreciate your working with me to create memorable events that everyone can enjoy by signing up, keeping your status up to date (so people on the waiting list can move up when you let a spot go on the attendance list), and being on-time for your tee time (at least 30 minutes prior to your tee-time) so team players are not waiting for you to tee off. When you arrive at the course, please pay for your round, check in with your Event Organizer, and find the others in your four-some.
Thank you for assisting your Event Organizers in making NoVA Golf Association LLC the best golf club in the State – the best courses and the lowest rates!
See You on the COURSE,
