Node.js Realtime Data VISualization Hack Night sponsored by Loggly

Details

Interested in realtime data visualization using Node.js? Bring your pet projects, your experience, and come hack on some code. We should have a collection of folks with different experience from client side visualization to best practices for extracting data from logs and databases in realtime. We will do speaker stuff for maybe the first 30 minutes, and then we'll pull out the laptops and work on projects. If you have something you'd like to show off in the evening's theme (project, service, expertise, product, pitch), please contact me. If you need help on something Node.js related, let's use the opportunity to connect with other folks who have the experience.

Agenda:

6:30 Dinner/Drink/Mix 7:00 Intro to topic of Realtime Data Visualization - Kord Campbell 7:30ish Vadim Ogievetsky will talk on "DVL: Dynamic Visualization Lego" (Metamarkets) 7:45ish Pitches (Need help on anything, need info, just want to let people know about what you've done) - You can get up and pitch anything through out the evening until we close up. 7:30 Code Hack 9:30 wrap up/clean up

Hack deas:

  • I need to build a generic dashboard for visualizing simple X,Y plots over time, as well as some kind of realtime leaderboard with scores displayed. I'm a newb at the vis stuff, so will be looking to revisit Kord's sample demo from the previous meetup to build a generic dashboard.
