JSGI is actually a CommonJS specification that can be implemented in many ways. . Node.js does not implement it natively, unlike ringo.js or narhwhal. Node-jsgi is probably the most node-native way of implementing it. Jack is actually an older version that is heavily Rack inspired. The specification is inspired by Rack and Python WSGI. It might be overkill for this presentation, just figured that JSGI is an awesome emerging standard to know

JSGI looks interesting Richard. Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like it gives you a simple mechanism to handle requests which, is ideal for running webservices. Though, I struggle understanding what one would get from JSGI that is more than Nodejs out of the box.

Also I want to mention that we'll be scheduling one of these meetups sometime this week.

Long time no response! I would love to see some discussion on JSGI and how that plays into webservices. We could use a module like common-node or jack as an exemplary way to implement a fully JSGI 0.3 'compliant' spec for some API.. If anyone has any ideas for fun RESTful APIs to play with, suggestions are grand!

I agree Richard. The recent meetups created were to get a general census of who wants to hear what. Is there anything particular that you would like to hear about webservices? We also need presenters, if this is something you're passionate about, email me and we'll fit you in. The presentations for the meetups posted and unscheduled haven't been developed yet so the details are open for suggestions.

Was wondering what will be used here - Restler, Webservice.js, RestMVC, Pintura, or? There are lots of ways to do this and lots of dimensions to webservices!
