What did you/are you studying in college?

See above. Urban and regional planning, specializing in applications in research methods for participatory planning processes.

What are your favorite non-fiction books you have read?

Not sure about books per se. Am a fan of certain political economists like Charles Lindblom, urban planners like Jane Jacobs, sociologists like Thorstein Vebel, and historians like Christopher Lasch.

What kind of books would you be interested in having the group read together?

I have a fairly eclectic taste and am open to suggestions of others for now until I become better acquainted with the group.

What area of DC/ time of the week would you most likely be available to attend a discussion?

Weeknights or Sumday evenings. No real preference about DC although I work downtown and live in Glover Park.

Tell us a little more about yourself.

Facebook quote is from Paul Wellstone: I'm short, I'm Jewish and I'm a liberal.

Introduction

Hi, I am Matt. I took many, many social scientific classes, culminating in a PhD in urban and regional planning about 15 years ago. I am really not sure what else to say but unfortunately feel like this comes off like an AA greeting....
