Let's Read Local: Did Sid? by Paul Robins

What are some winning combinations for a good mystery or thriller? Exotic locations and a martini just so? Leading questions cloaked behind a knitting project in progress? Recipes (e.g., A Quiche Before Dying)?

How about some good old NorCal themes: running for exercise and Capitol hijinks? We'll read and discuss the book Did Sid? by Sacramento author Paul Robins, with special focus on our editorial opinions, even though we know it's too late and the deal is done and the glue is dry.

Actually, I got my copy on Kindle for $5.49, but paperback is available too. Happy reading! http://www.paulrobins.com/

I'm bummed that I'm not going to make it tonight. I've enjoyed the book quite a bit. Fav moments:
Chap 22 when Sid and his sister talk about Stokes and end up busting out laughing like kids. Made me laugh out loud. Major turning point in the story on many levels.
Chap 26: good storytelling. Tying his thinking process about the shooter to chasing the guy ahead of him. "Sid had gotten close, just never close enough. It had to be someone he knew."
Fast, easy, light read. Good beach book.
    Hope you are all well.

I vote for something from Todd Borg (Lake Tahoe). Heard an interview with him on Insight (Cap Pub Radio) and was charmed.
Found some other LT authors on this site: http://www.tahoeculture.com/category/art/lt-writers/
