The North Austin Fun Referrals focuses on bringing together talented small businesses to help build clientele and increase profit margins through fun, local social and charity outings. Two incredible things happen when this group gets together: 1) increased exposure leading to more business and 2) development of wonderful, long-lasting professional and personal relationships. With the foundation that people do business with people that they Know, Like and Trust, our objective is building strength in numbers as we grow and get to know each other. About the organizers: Juli Word is a Texas REALTOR® with Keller Williams Realty in Round Rock and a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), Texas Association of REALTORS® (TAR), Williamson County Associations of Realtors (WCAOR), and ACTRIS – better known as MLS (Multiple Listing System). Prior to becoming a REALTOR®, she earned her Bachelor of Administration in Accounting from St. Edwards University with the distinction of Magna Cum Laude. Although she had a successful 20-year career in the accounting/financial industry she wanted to do more to serve her community - and what better way than to help a family find their perfect home. Tony Ruff is a Mortgage Planner with New American Mortgage tasked with opening and running a branch in our beautiful city of Austin. A transplant to Austin from Charlotte, North Carolina, Tony brings with him 8 years of experience in mortgage lending and practices. Tony spent 17 years in the restaurant industry before beginning his career in helping others achieve the goal of Homeownership. This group invites small businesses in the surrounding areas of Greater North Austin which includes: • North/NW Austin • Cedar Park/Leander • Georgetown • Pflugerville • Round Rock Although Fun Referrals’ goal is to increase business for its members, it is also a social group that intends on having fun and taking advantage of all that the Austin area has to offer. This includes outdoor activities (hiking, ziplining, 5K’s, canoeing, and all things outdoors), happy hours, morning coffee, sponsored seasonal parties/picnics (donations from members to help fund), volunteering at local animal shelters/humane societies and other non-profit organizations, and anything else that comes up during meetings. The plan for now is to meet 1x a month with the goal of adding more frequent outings as the need arises. Each meeting will start off with a few minutes of general discussion, introductions, and one member (maybe two depending on time) will provide highlights of what new product or service being offered. North Austin Fun Referrals is a serious referral group, but wants to keep the group fun, energetic, and leaving each member wanting more. The more we learn from each other, the more we gain. HOWEVER, being a referral group it can only support 1 or 2 members in each specialized industry.
