March will be great for budding vineyard and red clover cover crop!

Linda Rosso has kindly made arrangements for the NBPA group to meet at Warnecke Ranch and Vineyards - this is the location of Chalk Hill Residency where she did her artists residency last Spring. You can see locations at chalkhillresidency.com.

***Be advised of the possible muddy grounds, we recommend you wear HIKING BOOTS. The roads are rough gravel and some of the terrain is steep***

ALL ATTENDEES MUST COMPLETE FORM (below),
INCLUDING SIGNATURE
IN ORDER TO PAINT ON PROPERTY

***Please take the time to read thoroughly and bring this completed & signed form Sunday, we will collect immediately, before we being our tour of the ranch***

The form can also be found on our blog:

www.nbpleinair.blogspot.com

Agenda:
11:00am - 11:30am - Brief meetup and tour by Linda Rosso. IMPORTANT TO MEET ON TIME!

11:30am - 3:30pm - Let's Paint!

3:30pm - 4:00pm - Let's briefly meetup to share our findings, techniques or just to chat (not a critique).

Restrooms: Yes, located on both sides of the property.

Directions: Chalk Hill Residency/Warnecke Ranch: 13427 Chalk Hill Road, Healdsburg.

From 101 - talk the Shiloh Road/Windsor Exit and go east about 1 mile.

At stop sign, take left on Faught Road. You will pass equestrian center on left.

In about one mile, road splits slightly at Pleasant Avenue, and Faught veers to the left - stay left on Faught Road for a very short time, and watch for the beginning of Chalk Hill Road on your right.

Turn right onto Chalk Hill Road, which winds for about 5 miles.

The road rises (Chalk Hill will be on your left) and there will be a newly built Chateau style compound on your right and a small red barn building on your left.

Pass Toby Lane on the right and slow down.

Turn into the next driveway on your left, after the mailboxes.

The address is 13427 Chalk Hill Road and there are large Agave plants and chain link gates and a sign marked Private Property. The gates will be open.

Once inside the gates, stay on the main road with the purple plum trees. It starts going downhill and you see a long yellow building on your right. The only marking on the door says Restrooms.

Parking: Park anywhere in that area or in between the vineyard buildings  - there is a red bench we can use as our meeting place.

From this location, we can walk or car shuttle to other locations on the property - including the studio barns and residence house.

I spent the day in Healdsburg with my photographer friend. We never made it out to this specific location, but it was an incredible day with spectacular, lenticular clouds at sunset. WOw. Hope to get out to this location at some point. Love that they have an artist residency program. Please join me on the "Art on the Farm" Meetup Group that just launched: http://www.meetup.com/Art-on-the-Farm-Meetup/

I saw those lenticular clouds. Couldn't find my camera charger (may have lost it my last vacation), but if I'd had my camera, would have shot away. They were awesome!

Yes, they were. My photos didn't really do them justice. You can see a couple on my Instagram account, at "cproppe". : )
