Park map: parks.sonomacounty.ca.gov/uploadedFiles/Parks/Get_Outdoors/Parks/sonoma_valley_regionalpark_map.pdf

$7 parking fee (lasts the entire day)

The park trails are on-leash. There is, however, a fenced dog park where dogs are allowed to run free off-leash.

The gathering place will be at the Elizabeth Anne Perrone Dog Park entrance gate. From there we can walk around the larger park on-leash and then linger off-leash inside the dog park.

Hi, Robyn. there is poison oak along some of the trails in the hills but generally not the well-used wider trails.

Does anyone know if this trail has a lot of poison oak overgrowth? Thanks!

I walk here often so offer these notes. From the parking lot, after about 70 yards, a gravel path will take off from the paved path to the left and lead up the hill. That's the best way to get to the ridgetop; the two other connectors are in disrepair. At the hilltop, you can go right and through a fence marking land of Sonoma Developmental Center (SDC). You can walk downhill and then around the SDC reservoir. Or you can go straight and follow the fenceline another 1/2 mile-ish, then curve right to the lake. keep going straight, you'll dead end on a paved SDC road. it's fine to walk on SDC grounds.

You will see lots of people with their dogs off leash in the hills and around the lake. Tickets do happen at times--it's a crap shoot.

have fun in my backyard! Melis
