PLEASE READ:
Everyone 6 and older, of all abilities, are welcome to join us!
Parents to participate if your child is between ages 6 thru 9, unless physically unable.
If you join with us you must RSVP 'yes' prior to coming to a class.
This is a great way to exercise, learn self-defense, have fun, and meet and build friendships. Classes will be Saturdays (Unless otherwise indicated). This group provides you the opportunity to learn beginning karate without any financial obligation, other than purchasing a Gi (uniform) by your third class--Gi required after third class. (We have Gi's available from $25.) We will make every effort to have a class every Saturday at the South side of the Vista Boys-n-Girl's Club at 410 West California Ave, Vista Ca 92083. (You must join our group on this site and indicate you will be coming before showing up to each class.) Our Class room is at the back side of the club building. Please go through the gate on the south side, along and next to the baseball field, and park there. From the parking lot we are upstairs.

We do ask that after passing and receiving your yellow-belt (if you choose to test) that you donate $5 per class. (You may be required to attend the regular karate classes to be eligable to test for higher belts. )

In order to prepare you for your first test you will learn kicks, punches, stances, blocks, and the basic katas (series of moves). Our group classes will be taught by intermediate & advanced belts. Sensei Sal (head-instructor) will occasionally make an appearance so as to stay abreast of your progress. If you are new to the group and do not yet have a Gi then be advised to wear something comfortable so as to allow exercise and free
movement. Bringing water is a good idea. This is a beginner's class, thus all are welcome.

Our karate is traditional Okinawan (birth-place of karate) and provides a good balance between offense and defense. This style can be practiced by all ages and abilities. You can visit our website at: www.shorinkansandiego.com for much valuable information, including info about Sensei Sal. We will be staying within this style and teaching guide-lines of this dojo in our classes. Our goal is to have fun, meet others, and all while getting a good work-out.
Karate is a conditioning of both body and mind, involving integrity; therefore, we ask that all adhere to the 'yes' rsvp's that you indicate. Classes will start promptly at the indicated time.
Members are removed from group after about 2 months that sign up and never come to a class.
