The term “Prepper” is often misunderstood. Most think of the “Extreme" or "Doomsday Preppers” as seen on T.V.  A Prepper is anyone who wants to be, or is prepared for an emergency/disaster. That might be a major earthquake, wild fire or other natural disaster. It might be unemployment or a solar storm. It’s up to you to decide what your concern is and prepare for it. Practicality has a place in prepping and we like to approach being prepared with a dose of pragmatism.

NCPreppers is a group for ALL levels of interest; from “just checking it out” to getting off the grid/self sustainability. We focus the presentations and events towards the interests of the group. We try our best to cater our meet-ups and presentations to all levels of prepping.

If a major earthquake or firestorm resulted in the power and water to stop flowing for 5 days; would you be ok? 7 days? 14? Are you relying on the government to take care of you? If so, we encourage you to re-think your stance. You are far better off safe and comfortable at home vs. dragging your family to a shelter and waiting in lines for food and water.

Our focus is to develop networks of like minded individuals to serve as a support team for each other in times of need or drastic change. We do this by getting to know each other while participating in events. Participation is needed to achieve these goals as trust is built by time spent face to face, not over the internet. While we encourage you to look around and decide if you want to be a member; we also encourage you to delete yourself from the members list if we are not for you.  We are looking to advertise an accurate number of active members.

We are not looking for armchair Preppers; we are an active group that meets face to face. We feel strongly that if you cannot or will not do it “now”; you’ll most likely be unable to do it “then”. Learning by doing is our mantra.
