Photograph San Gregorio State Beach

Join us for our inaugural Meetup, spending an afternoon photographing at San Gregorio State Beach along the San Mateo Coast. We’ll wander the beach enjoying all the details and scenic beauty of this wonderful location, and stay to catch the sunset. Our eyes will be our guide. We’ll walk along the rugged coastal cliffs, wander along the surf line, watching the waves, looking for wildlife. There’s also a neat sea-cave here known for its collection of fossils.

This will be an informal, social gathering where we can share our passions with like-minded folks.

We’ll plan on meeting at 3:30pm and shoot through the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. We will be arriving as the tide is heading out, so we should have optimal conditions. We won’t be straying too far from the parking area, so if you need to use a restroom, want to bring a snack, picnic dinner, or extra clothes, you’ll have an easy opportunity to get back to the main lot.

Tides: HIGH: 2:18 PM PDT / 4.8 ft LOW: 7:51 PM PDT / 2.4 ft

Be sure to bring appropriate clothing and footwear. A change of socks and shoes is never a bad idea when you’re at the beach. Keeping a towel with you in your vehicle also can be a good suggestion. Bring your own food and water. If you have any questions, please let me know.

PS: Although there's no fee, and anyone is welcome to attend, I would like to keep the group size fairly limited, perhaps to around a dozen photographers or twenty photographer at the max.

This is a casual, social meetup, not a photo workshop. Everyone is free to wander, shoot whatever catches their eye, share info and stories, and just have fun hanging out and shooting with other fun photographers.
