NOWS Mini-Con - June 2014

Details

Our final Nows Minicon for 2014 has been scheduled for Saturday June 28, 2014, 9:00 Am - Midnight Berea, OH St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Hey everyone, we have scheduled our 3rd Minicon for the 2014 year, it is on Saturday June 28, 2014. Our May event was a really great time, and it will be hard to outdo, but I’m sure our GM’s are up to the challenge.

This will also be a great time to do some play testing of those events being planned for upcoming conventions as well.

This event will run from 9:00 AM until Midnight , at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located at 50 East Bagley Road , Berea , Ohio.

Although our Minicons are somewhat informal events, it still encourages better attendance and new members to have some quality games scheduled ahead of time. If you are interested in putting on a game, please email or otherwise send details of the game you propose in writing to any Board member.

So if you'd like to be one of the first to submit an event (and guarantee good time slots), please submit your event proposals now: This is the first online announcement, so please get your event submissions for the event in as soon as possible

Classical Hack (Joe Style) – The Scenario will be "Legions For Lunch" at the minicon in 28mm starting at 10am. Based on player input from the previous minicon, I have altered the setup. GM Paul Buehner ROLL HIGH SKIRMISH CIVIL WAR. Battle for Bauer's farm Kentucky 1862 Confederate and Union soldiers looking for recruits and forage but the Bauer's have brought their own unit to get rid of these warmongers 28mm time around 2-3pm .

GM Rick Dunn and Dave Kasper Pirate Skirmish 25mm – GM Rick Dunn The minicon is fast approaching so please submit your events soon, so be sure to request to run an event early in order to secure the best times.

As always in addition to the posted events, we always have a selection of Board games and other miniature games that are set up last minute. I'm sure this will be a great day of gaming as usual, so we look forward to seeing you there!

You can either email NOWS at this address or call me at 440-292-7189, with information on proposed events, questions, or information on how to submit an article for our newsletter (we love to get some more articles from the club). So let’s get those game offers coming in so that we can have another great Minicon to keep the new gaming year going!

We will also have our traditional Swag table available for your unwanted gaming materials that you want to unload. Take this opportunity to offer them up to your fellow club members first. Even though our Minicon sare a "members only” activity, you may bring friends to join NOWS the day of the Minicon at the membership fee of only $4 which will include attendance to this event as well as the receipt of our bimonthly newsletter, through NOWSCON in September.

If you haven't attended a Minicon previously or would like to invite a friend who hasn't attended this is a great chance to see what you've been missing. There is no additional charge for children under 16 years old accompanying paid members, however it is up to individual GM's whether children can participate in their games without the accompanying adult.

Note we will likely have a very full day of events. Please be sure to set up and tear down games efficiently for others to set up, as we will not have a lot of extra table space. It would also help if only the round tables are used for set ups and Board games to leave the rectangular tables available for the larger Miniature games.

Thanks,

Carl Scheu President
