District 1220 Rotary Races for Polio Eradication

On Tuesday 15 May we are having a unique District event to raise funds for polio eradication. All seven National Hunt races are sponsored by Rotarians or Rotary connected businesses and we hope to sell as many Grandstand tickets as possible. It is expected that the first race will be at 5.30pm and the last one at 8.30pm to be followed by “Urban Intro” a band who will play for 45 minutes.

There is free car parking for 1,000 vehicles and a range of food outlets such as The Pantry for soup, cottage pie and trifle for example, a fish and chip shop, a Carvery for hot meat rolls and several bars. Food and drink cannot be taken into any enclosure but there is a designated picnic area available if you prefer to bring your own! No BBQ’s though please! The Seasons Restaurant does a 3 course dinner for up to 100 people but early booking direct with the racecourse is essential. Please see www.southwell-racecourse.co.uk (http://www.southwell-racecourse.co.uk/) for full details.

Monies from the sale of Rotary tickets for this evening will be sent to Polio Eradication. Grandstand tickets are usually £11 but we are selling them at just £5 in order to attract as many people as possible !

Contact Helen for tickets and give her the cash prior to 10th April, after this you will have to get tickets yourself.
