Notts Dining Co-op: Pancakes and Chinese New Year
Sumac Centre, 245 Gladstone Street, Nottingham, GB17th Feb: It is Pancake Day, and it is also Chinese New Year around now, so the meal is a combination of sweet and savoury pancakes and some Chinese features.

Notts Dining Co-op is a group of people creating high quality but cheap plant-based community meals for the public at regular intervals. We are currently serving a regular vegan meal on the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month at the Sumac Centre. Past offerings include paella, meatballs, tagine, enchiladas, tacos, tapas, goulash, biryani, pasta, falafel, dal, stir-fry, soup, lasagna, tikka masala, turndown, lentil shepherd's pie. There is no fixed charge, you can pay what you like, but we recommend £2. Hot drinks are available from the Sumac's facilities (make small donation please).
Note: the meal is usually not ready by 7, there can be a wait before it is served up. This time can be used to get to know your fellow diners and discuss the finer points of vegan cuisine!
We are looking to bring more people on board. Are you interested in helping a growing vegan community food project? Different roles are available.

NAE Community Kitchen: Côte d'Ivoire
Corner Cafe NAE Nottingham, 39 Gregory Boulevard , Nottingham, United Kingdom, NG76BE, Nottingham, GBThe New Art Exchange Corner Cafe (which is entirely plant-based) is putting on one community meal a month on the first Thursday from 5 till 7. This is a continuation of their earlier community meals but now each has a focus on the cuisine of a particular country, with which is paired a film to be shown at 6:30.
Pay what you want or can afford - donation rather than set price.
I am particularly looking forward to this one as I have been getting into African food recently.
In their own words, from their website:

Come and eat with us! At Corner Café, we serve up plant-based dishes from a different culture on the first Thursday of every month.
This month we are excited to present an evening of Côte d’Ivoire food for you to enjoy.
Meals are served from 5 pm and drinks are available to buy at the café.
Our gallery will be open until late for you to explore.
Everyone is welcome – no one turned away for lack of funds. Sit down, enjoy a great meal and get to know your local community!
Please note that The Community Kitchen is first-come, first-served. We prepare a limited number of portions to minimise food waste. While booking a ticket helps us estimate how many people to expect and promotes the event, it does not guarantee that you will receive food. We recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment.
Our food is always vegan-friendly at Community Kitchen events and allergy information is available on request. Feel free to **contact us **with any questions you may have.1 attendee
