David Rees will be presenting an overview of two remarkable new projects--Meteor and Derby--that provide a glimpse into the future of web development. Both use utilize data propagation up and down the stack, make JavaScript APIs available on the client and the server, and provide a pathway to building real-time web applications.

The event will be held at the headquarters of SpanishDict.com.

I don't see how you could have had a better speaker. He was clear, concise, and shared his opinions on two new JS libraries, Derby and Meteor, as we try to establish frameworks for implementing NodeJS and like technologies.

Loved the talk, presentation could be a little better but overall it was great. My only issue was listening to a technology that's very young. But the possibilities are great, and promises great out-of-box solution.
