Data & Analytics: Don't guess, use data as a way to build a better product

Three local community members Ben, John and Farooq have graciously agreed to host our next meeting at Google Irvine.  John, the Product Manager for Google Analytics in Irvine, will be giving a presentation on using Analytics and Ben and Farooq will be present to answer questions as well.

Here are the working rules for this session:

  • The event is limited to the first 25 people who RSVP (the page may show a higher attendance because our Google hosts do not count towards the limit).  If you signed up and can't attend, please unregister to allow room for those on the waiting list.
  • Everyone will have to stop by the visitor kiosk in reception to sign in and get a name badge before going to the meetup.
  • Please don't wander the building or go anywhere without a Google chaperon. One of us can escort anyone needing to go to the bathroom so that they can get back through the door with the security card reader.

More details to follow. Cheers.

The topic was interesting and more relevant to start-ups than I expected it to be and the presenter (John Jersin) did a good job. As usual the valuable part of this meetup was the opportunity to network with everyone post the presentation.

Great talk by John. Had to leave at 7 so didn't get to meet too many people, but got to see the whole presentation. Looking forward to the next one.

Thanks so much for the interest tonight's meetup. If you have a venue you can volunteer for next time please let Shervin know.

Google is located at 19540 Jamboree Road in Irvine. We're in the same building as Equinox and East West Bank. You may park in the garage and we'll validate. The building locks at 6PM, so we will meet you downstairs and escort you up to the 2nd floor sign to in and get name tags at reception. If you're locked out downstairs, then call my cell at[masked]

Thanks for all the interest in the event. Unfortunately we cannot host more than 25 attendees - it would require hiring security, getting VP approval, etc. If you've registered for the event and cannot make it, please unregister to make room for others that would like to attend. If you can't make the event due to capacity limitations, setup Google Analytics on your site and let us know if you have any questions. We'll be more than happy to help. Please come out to future meetups as well!

I'm in the same boat as Michael. Meetup sends me email for every message board update, but nothing when an event is posted? What a lovely piece of software.
