LEO F.K.'s ATTENDANCE&REVIEW OF THIS EVENT --post all that here on this thread.
*This week Leo SMSed me saying he accidentally dropped his laptop and the screen went white; I directed him to try an external monitor & he found that works so seems all he needs is is screen repaired (as the wires connecting may have come loose or the FL inverter, if any, broke) else replaced. But he's no tech and suggested he didn't have money to pay for standard repair, so I strongly suggested he attend this meetings as, while not a Linux Q, here are plenty of PC experts welcoming to help those with 0 IT background (if, say, they're also curious of Linux :-)
*So finally this morn he applied to OCAndroid,so I just approved him&RSVPed him YES here.
*Note he SMSed he was worried he might not fit in among techies not yet knowing much tech, so
**Please especially welcome him if he rightfully braves coming
    **Leo,if u still don't make it,Reply here&update ur RSVP.

Thank you Michael and Martin for your support and for being so thoughtful, I could not go back on line to change the RSVP. Since I was depending on my laptop to pretty much run my life and my business keeping my files there, my life has been disrupted. This is a good lesson for me and I will be finding other options to keep my files some place else and to have another back up laptop to access them in case of another accident like this. I will be buying the screen on line sometime this weekend. I know I can replace it myself but I am also aware that the connections are delicate and I might damage them, so if anybody is familiar with a reputable person or a shop where I can get the screen replaced once I get it please let me know. Thanks again for your consideration.

Leo sorry you could not make the OCLUG. Many hardware geeks were in attendance that have dealt with local and international suppliers. Personally I know of a cluster of local suppliers near 1300 Edinger in Santa Ana. Your prices may vary but one installed for free. Unfortunately. I don't remember the current store name but it is where the old ACP Electronic s used to be. Multiple vendors have new and used display sin that cluster so shop around.

*Looking forward to it! (Also making this comment so Meetup assigns this listing a real permanent URL instead of present :-)

OCLUG has a very active technical help mailing list. Many members rarely meet in person. This was my first. Another member had not attended in 5 years but is still well respected & very active on the lists. I am still trying to understand the group dynamic.
