We need to get out for Spring Break (Thanks Amy!)

We've done Three Ridges many times and it's not really that hard. I used to say it was 'easy', but I think most trips can be easy if you just take your time!

Here's the plan.

Friday - Drive up to Reed's Gap on the Blue Ridge Parkway and park.

Hike the 1.5 miles, or so, up the AT to the Maupin Shelter. There are great tent sites and a creek. The shelter is also available for sleeping.

Saturday we hike up and over the "three ridges" and go down to camp around the Campbell Shelter. I think it's around 7 miles.

Sunday is the "hard" day, because you have to hike up (duh!) back to the start. We'll take the Mar Har Trail along Campbell creek back up the Maupin Shelter and take the AT back down to the cars.

Also on Sunday, for those up for it, we'll stop for a 'victory' feast somewhere near Charlottesville. For those that haven't been, Michi's Tavern is a great historical spot, around $17.50 http://www.michietavern.com/michie-taverns-bill-of-fare/
