Cynthia Kirkeby will give a short explanation of the three types of intellectual properties and how they differ. Next, she will explain how businesses can use all three to give them an advantage in the marketplace, and why this is especially important for startups and entrepreneurs.

BACKGROUND

Cynthia Kirkeby is a serial entrepreneur, having created companies in a variety of industries including: the service industry (design firm), small manufacturing (pet product), large scale manufacturing (furniture industry) , and multiple Internet properties both in education and commerce. This diverse background gives her a unique ability to assist other entrepreneurs with strategic business approaches to their ventures both on and off the Internet.

Cynthia is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence at Chapman University and a member of the Inventor’s Forum Development Committee. She was certified as a court expert in graphics, and she has successfully defended her intellectual properties in Federal Court.
