Here's a description I stole from Melissa: Dim Sum - A traditional Chinese cuisine in which small portions of a variety of foods, including an assortment of steamed or fried dumplings, are served in succession.
Essentially you point to a picture on the menu (because the spelling is NOT related to English pronunciation) and they bring you a tray that has 3 or 4 in it. Typically we get a couple of each at each ordering interval, and split them among the table. Anyone can grab anything and if we run out we order more, then at the end we divide the bill by the number of people and all chip in. It actually turns out that the more people we have the cheaper it is per person. For those who don't like dim sum, there is an option to order normal items off the menu as well.
Due to our usual splitting of one bill, it is a good idea to bring cash. It will make it easier on everyone.
They've moved back to their original location, so the meetup is no longer at Seafood Place #2. However, the parking is much better, and the location is a little farther south, so it will be easier for some members to get to.
Very Important: Dim Sum is served from 11am to 3pm. However, the kitchen stops making stuff at some point in time, and they like to wait 45 minutes to tell us an ordered item is not coming, so get your orders in quickly! I'm starting this event right away at 11 because I have a class to go to at 1pm.
The rsvp cutoff time is 2 hours before the event so I can know how many seats to reserve before I leave.
