Introductory session

For our first session I think we should each read this:

It's an introductory essay to Objectivist ethics. I thought it may be a little too intense starting with metaphysics and epistemology - but I think in reading this essay we will see that its study is required.

Since it's quite long I recommend we read it before and highlight anything of interest.

I wanted to mention that I'm not the teacher here. I'm interested in learning about philosophy through Objectivist sources too, so I'll be questioning and learning from you as well.

We will meet up, get to know each other a little and then proceed into questions and discussions about the essay. The aim here is to learn and explore. Since philosophical conversation can proliferate into millions of directions we're going to try hard to stay focused on the topic (ethics and what precedes it), and where it seems really necessary to discuss another topic we'll be noting that and saving it for another meeting.

I'd be open to any suggestions regarding the material and topics we cover as well as the time/date of the meeting.
