For more than a decade, Stephen lived a simple, quiet existence working in the marketing office at a small university. After he and his wife, Cara, found out they were pregnant with twins in 2014, things changed in a hurry. A series of questionable decisions led to them starting a digital marketing agency together when their newborns were just three months old.

With $10,000 in savings, arms full of babies, and a small amount of freelance experience, they set off into the wild world of business.

In the four years since it started, Steed Interactive has reinvented itself many times (A branding firm! A content marketing agency! A web design shop! An e-commerce coaching business!). Through every project, every client and every pivot, Stephen and Cara learned some hard lessons about entrepreneurship and themselves. They couldn't be happier.

Steed (as of 2019) has two areas of focus:

• E-commerce success coaching for small online store owners (steedokc.com).
