How can journalists navigate the digital media landscape?

Come meet with writers, editors, photographers, designers, high tech innovators, social media experts and other local professionals interested in new media. Together we can learn, network and access cutting edge resources through the first local Online News Association group in the Middle East.

The ONA Jerusalem Launch is your chance to meet with a diverse range of local digital professionals and explore the possibilities.

We hope to see you there, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, inside Touro Restaurant at the Jerusalem Press Club in Mishkenot Sha’ananim.

Address: S.A. Nachon 2

Thank you very much for your interest in ONA Jerusalem!

We would like to invite you to join the ONA Jerusalem Facebook group. To avoid confusion, we will delete this Meetup group in a week or so. Please feel free to contact us at [masked] if you have any questions, suggestions, ideas or comments.

As a peer-led professional group that operates entirely through volunteers and partnerships, we encourage members to take the initiative. Have a skill or an idea? Want to help organize an event or a program? Let's talk. Already several amazing experts and organizations have offered their services. The possibilities are endless.

Thank you for being a part of ONA Jerusalem. We look forward to exploring the possibilities with you!

I'm also looking for directions using public transport from the Tachana mercazit in Jerusalem... is there a bus going near there? Or the light rail?

To my regret I only saw the announcement today and I do not see a waiting list option; being in the neighborhood at the time I will come to see if there are enough no-shows among the registered attendees to allow me me a place; if it happens, fine, otherwise there will always be a next opportunity.

Meetup Message from: Dania, Member of ONA Jerusalem
    Wednesday's meeting in Jerusalem

Shalom Rav, Are there people who are coming from the Tel-Aviv area (I live in Givatayim) and can give me a ride to the event? I would very much appreciate that. In case no one is coming from this area, would you please give me directions of public transportation to get to the place. Thanks, Dania Shapira

Great job using the the Meetup page to coordinate! Dania, there is a train (you can find more information on rail.co.il, Rakevet Israel's website). But the train does not travel directly, and it is probably more efficient to take the 480 bus from Tel Aviv. We look forward to meeting you on Wednesday!

Thanks. I was about to take the 480 bus anyway (I am still wondering if there is anyone coming from the Tel-Aviv area, though, for a possible ride). I have used it recently when participating at some conferences. However, my question was about the Jerusalem's "Little Train", which has a stop near the bus central station in Jerusalem. I have used that one a few times, and was most convenient.

Glad I came across this meetup - it looks very interesting. Is there an entrance charge?

    • Leigh C.

There is no entry fee. This event is completely free. Thank you for your interest in ONA Jerusalem!

Thank you everyone for your overwhelming interest in ONA Jerusalem! It looks like we will have a full house on Wednesday. Because we have limited space at this event, please do not bring a +1 if he or she has not also RSVPed and is not interested in contributing to the group. Anyone who cannot attend this first event is welcome to join Wednesday's conversation online by following #ONAJerusalem on Twitter. We look forward to exploring ONA Jerusalem's dynamic potential along with you!
