Journalism LULZ: Reporting With Humor

What is the role for humor in journalism, from hard news to politics to tech and pop culture? When does it work better than being straightforward? When should journalists strictly avoid it? What does its prevalence in new media reporting and social media say about where the media industry is heading? We're bringing together a panel of funny journalists to tackle these questions and others, and hope you'll join us. We may have one more name to add to the panel soon, so stay tuned.

Really not been happy for missing so much of meetups on account of trans Atlantic boundry. Wish NYC could give consideration to holding once-a-year global meetup outside US

Am shuffling round Bronx with nasty head cold. Will keep it at home and not spread to lovely ONA people. Sorry I will be missing you all!

Sounds like a very swell event — when will we find out if we're off the waitlist and on the actual list? Hope some spots open up!

Very interesting topic. Please be sure to ask them about the intersection of political correctness and humor in our pop culture. This is serious stuff and I know it because I'm an editor at Thanks.
