Verifying the news, hosted by Twitter & ONANYC

Join us at Twitter New York for cocktails and a discussion of how reporters and editors are using social media to verify news. Industry colleagues who have sourced news, verified or debunked the reports and crowd-sourced stories — all through social media — will share their stories in a series of lightning rounds.

Twitter’s Andrew Fitzgerald will also share the latest on Twitter’s tools for verification including TweetDeck and geolocation. More details on speakers to come, but please get in touch with Twitter's Adrienne Vogt ([masked]) if you're interested in contributing.

    Hi all,
Just wanted to say thanks to all the ONA organizers for putting together a very informative event.
If anyone is interested in learning more about qbeats, and how we are changing the way content reaches consumers, please don't hesitate to drop me a note.

    Hi all,

Sorry to report you won't be able to buy at the door; we're at capacity and Twitter security needed the names of attendees ahead of time. Wish we could fit more!

If there is any space available on the 16th, can I pay at the door?

I will be very busy in mid July. So I can't definitely commit now to paying for and attending this event.

I have been a business journalist for more than 25 years, and I never gone to any social media site for news. My favorite news sources are the economist, reuters, nytimes, bloomberg, and some others. So I am quite curious about this event's subject.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
