The Future of eBooks

Details

An exciting look at how story tellers, fiction and nonfiction, are using new media technology to keep readers informed and entertained. Come learn about the economic prospects of eBooks, how they are created, their comparative advantages to print books, and their connection to social media.

The panel will feature new media journalists Sree Sreenivasan (Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, DNAinfo, WABC-TV | @sree (https://twitter.com/sree)) and Evan Ratliff (The Atavist, The New Yorker, National Geographic | @ev_rat (https://twitter.com/ev_rat)).

They will be joined by two novelists: Cort McMeel (St. Martin’s Press/Thomas Dunn | @ (https://twitter.com/cortrightmcmeel)cortrightmcmeel (https://twitter.com/cortrightmcmeel)) and Norb Vonnegut (St. Martins/Minotaur Press | @NorbVonnegut (https://twitter.com/NorbVonnegut)). Moderated and introduced by ONA NYC member Eddie Vega (@VegaWire (https://twitter.com/VegaWire)) (https://twitter.com/VegaWire). Special thanks to the National Arts Club’s Literary and Photography Committees and the Yeats Society for their co-sponsorship.

There will be two receptions - the first one begins at 7:30 p.m. This is for ONA members only, and will very likely be in the Sculpture Court. The panel then goes on as planned at 8 p.m. in the Grand Gallery. Afterwards, there will be a second reception for everyone, very likely in the Grand Gallery.
