Introducing .... Newsana!

Join us for a demo and Q&A about Newsana (currently in beta with:
Ben Peterson, the Co-Founder and CEO of Newsana, Jonathan Wong and chief community officer Kim Fox.

Newsana is a community of people passionate about finding and discussing quality news and ideas. Based on community activity, the top five stories are surfaced across a variety of topics and are showcased on the site.

The bar is going to hook us up with a stage light, so hopefully we'll be able to see the panel this time! ;-)

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the formal presentation and Q&A from 7-7:30 p.m. or so, followed by networking!

Not bad. The business model was "undefined" but I'm also told that the site will grow based on "feedback" from the users, which seems as good a way as any of suggesting that there are several potential models needing validation needing validation before a final revenue model is chosen. Not sure how you can "gamify" working journalists into providing their "quality" copy for free when most have already been trained to work for money. Likely this is another one of those potential models needing validation.

Chuck, I think you misunderstood the gamification aspect. The point isn't for journalists to give away their stories for free, it's to encourage then to share each others' stories. On that note, being "trained" to accept money is theoretically just another riff on action = gratification, which is at the core of gamification.
