Run a bullet-proof live blog on Azure for $20

One of the great promises of the cloud is the ability to scale up and out whenever you need it. The infrastructure required to accommodate even a simple but robust scaleable system used to require racks of equipment and a huge budget. Now you can use a combination of technologies in Windows Azure and the .NET stack to quickly build, deploy and throw-away an entire system for about twenty bucks. In this talk, you'll learn about the products in Azure that you can use to compose a system for the "live blog" scenario, where you could get crushing traffic to an app that updates content in real time from a live event. You don't need a rack of computers, or a ton of code.

Bio: Jeff Putz has been working in software for more than 15 years. His experience ranges from awesome dot-com flame-outs like Insurance.com, to pure technology companies like Microsoft, where he worked on massive scale apps in MSDN and TechNet.
