ORCLAPEX NYC Meetup - July 2014

Details
Welcome to ORLCAPEX NYC's 2nd meetup! Finally, a meetup in the NYC area for folks that love APEX as much as you do!
Note: You must RSVP for this event and seats are limited. Please RSVP with your full name and bring matching ID for security. Please do not RSVP if you are unsure that you will be able to attend. If you do RSVP and are no longer able to attend please change your status so that someone on the waiting list may take your place.
After attending Kscope14, Dan McGhan will share with us some of what he learned when he presents What You Missed at Kscope14. From the Sunday Symposium, to the Thursday Deep Dives, Kscope14 will be packed with APEX related content and events. If you're unable to attend this year, don't be dismayed, our ORCLAPEX NYC co-founder Dan McGhan will be there taking notes to share with you when he returns. Let's hope he stays focused and takes good notes!
Dan is Senior Technical Consultant at Enkitec and an Oracle ACE. He suffers from Compulsive Programming Disorder which is believed to be linked to his balding. Having started his development career in the land of MySQL and PHP, he was only too happy to have stumbled upon APEX. Since then, he’s dedicated his programming efforts to learning more about Oracle and web based technologies in general.
Next up, Marc Sewtz will be presenting Turbo Mobile Development in APEX 5.0. Mobile and tablet devices have become an important part of today’s business. With over 70% of organizations already using or planning to use custom mobile apps, companies can no longer afford to stand on the sidelines and need to adopt a mobile strategy now. Oracle Application Express provides customers with powerful tools to quickly and efficiently build mobile web applications and extend their existing desktop applications for mobile use. Oracle Application Express 5.0 further expands the existing mobile development features to allow rapid, declarative, web-based mobile applications.
Marc is a Senior Software Development Manager at Oracle Corporation in New York. Marc joined Oracle in 1998 and after working in Consulting and Sales, he has been working in Product Development for the Oracle Application Express (APEX) team since 2002. Marc and his team are responsible for features like Mobile support, reports, charts and tabular forms, the APEX UI and templates and the PDF printing options. Marc has a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Applied Sciences in Wedel, Germany.
After Dan and Marc have blown our minds with their APEX skills we'll open up the floor for some Lightening Demos. Have you done something cool you'd like to share? Know a little trick that may benefit the community? This is your chance to show the world! Or at least the people in the room... Seriously though, if you're interested in doing a Lightening Demo, please let us know ahead of time so that we may plan ahead.
Here's an overview of the agenda:
• 6:00pm - Come on up for light drinks and socializing
• 6:20pm - Announcements
• 6:30pm - Dan McGhan presents What You Missed at Kscope14
• 7:00pm - Marc Sewtz presents Turbo Mobile Development in APEX 5.0

But wait, there's more! For those of you that are hungry for more socializing, drinks, or even food, a group of us will take to the streets of NYC to satisfy your desires during APEX After Hours. Everyone is invited to join but your bill is your own. :)
