Healthy People Healthy Parks Walk

Details

Exclusive tour of a beautiful wilderness not yet open to the public! About 2 miles, up and down about 100 ft hills or less. Overgrown dirt path. Slower pace. We have a pretty little preserve on Uvas Road between the turnoff for the campground and Uvas Reservoir. We call it Uvas Creek. It is not yet open to the public.

We would like to bring you out here to see this pretty place and take a gently paced hike/ walk over to our spring fed ponds. You may get to see deer, bobcats and lots of birds. If it rains, this program will be canceled.

Sweet, gentle horses will probably come up and beg for petting. Gaze at interesting water fowl (Dark morph of Reddish Egret with slate-blue upperparts seen 5/20) on ponds, and a great view of a lake from a hilltop. Just so you know, there are horses roaming free on this property. They are very friendly. If you are concerned, please let us know.

Important:
Wear closed toed shoes, ankle boots and long pants recommended due to spikey grass. Please bring water and a light snack, sunhat, sunscreen.

Google maps has this place listed at about 16541-17099 Uvas Rd, Morgan Hill, 95037. GPS can be entered into google maps: 37.0913251, -121.7196352. It's between Croy Rd and Uvas Reservoir. After you pass Croy, you will see a 30 mph sign with a squiggle arrow, then right before the property you will see a yellow 35 mph sign with a left turn arrow. The gate will be open, and you can drive down the road and park in the turnabout near the chimney. If you get to Uvas Resevoir, you've gone too far south.
