The Peak of the Perseids Meteor Shower

Details
Every year we get an incredible meteor shower that pops out of the constellation Perseus. (You know, the guy on Pegasus with Medusa's head in tow?) It has between 40-60 meteors an hour we are told. This year, we are totally aiming for the PEAK night to be sure to see the very most meteors.
Bring your beach chair and a tarp or blanket, pack a picnic dinner and bring water or hot chocolate. And come enjoy the evening with your family and friends. It's going to be awesome!
We will be staying open until 11 pm this night so we can make the best of the meteor shower. Don't forget to dress warm. Even if it's hot out during the day, this area get chilly at night and it sneaks up on you. But wear your toasties and you will be GREAT.
Some local astronomers will be joining us with telescopes so if you want to take a break from watching meteors and look at some amazing celestial bodies through their telescope, you are welcome to!
You are going to want to bring a flashlight with a red filter over it. (If you don't have a red filter don't stress... we will have red gel we can trim and put over the top for you :) The red light helps with your night vision. If you come after dark, please park in the overflow lot (up the road a little bit) and walk down to us in the horse lot. You'll see lots of people.
I recommend coming early to get a good spot. :) Please bring your friends and family. Sorry, no pets in this nature preserve.
