Topic: Enterprise Cybersecurity: Building an Effective Defense

Speakers: Scott E. Donaldson, Chris K. Williams, Abdul Aslam

The authors will discuss material from their book, Enterprise Cybersecurity: How to Build a Successful Cyberdefense Program Against Advanced Threats. In this discussion, they will talk about how the “traditional” cyber-defense methods have been ineffective against modern threats, and why that has taken place. They will discuss how most “defense in depth” architectures don’t have much depth, if any. They will talk about how “kill chain” methodology can be used to drive a security architecture. Finally, they will discuss some of the cyber defenses that are needed to be effective against modern threats, and how cyberdefense will continue to evolve in the future.
