Balaangala Community Group - Indigenous Language Workshop

Balaangala Community Group presents…

Waking Up To Language

Hear Advance Australia Fair in
Turrbal language!

For over forty thousand years no one said "hello" in this country. What did Indigenous people say instead?  The languages of Australia are diverse and fascinating and sadly, in many cases. dormant. What can we do to help wake these sleeping languages?

Join us in a discussion to find out more about our first Australian languages. We will talk about the current state of Indigenous languages and try to share with you the wonder of these languages.

Balaangala members, Maurice Serico (Gubbi
Gubbi nation) and Camille Nielsen (MA
AppLing) will lead a conversation about
language. Special guests will include: Uncle
Des Sandy, James Sandy and family and
Danny Doyle

Cost: $15/$10 Concessions. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL

Please note this event is not hosted by the One World Collective so you will need to RSVP by August 30 to Camille Nielsen from Balaangala Community Group.

Email: [masked] or phone:[masked]

Spaces are limited.

RSVP on Meetup too so we recognise each other once we get there or call me. I have not been there before so am unsure as to where would be a good place to meet. Hope to see you there!
