Teach Yourself HTML: focus on CSS

Details

We are now moving on to CSS! In this meetup, we'll be hacking away at sylesheets and basic web page layout on the SydeWayz Big 1080dp screen. I'ts amazing how group hacking stimulates learning! You can drive, chime in or just sit comfortably in the background and observe or conversate with another attendee.

Attend these meetups if you want to start teaching yourself the language of the World Wide Web, HTML, with other beginners (Newbes). We will soon be doing css, javascript, php, python, and maybe more. Only prerequisite is that you have a laptop and a positive attitude. Come check out the East Oakland tech vibe at SydeWayz!

Why learn HTML & CSS?

• Good first language because you can see the results of your code right away.

• Lot's of free online tutorials, tools, and downloadable programs to help you start creating working code at your own pace.

• It's fun and visually rewarding. You can hack others code to learn advanced techniques and styles.

• It is core computer knowledge. Even if you plan on specializing in another language, you will probably have to know some HTML

What can I expect from this meetup?

• To expand your network by meeting others who have similar interests in computers and programming

• To become part of a casual support group that encourages each other to stay on track to complete your a self-appointed course.
