Meet other Bay Area Sailing Enthusiasts in Oakland Sailing Meetup Group (OSMG).
We sail just to get out there and practice, see a sunset or even participate in a race. It is easy to get aboard one of our many boats. Event cut off isn't till the night before a sail. If at the last minute your schedule opens and you could join us after-all, just call. We'll make every effort to include you.

Boat Owners sometimes say with a sideways smile - "BOAT - Break Out Another Thousand." Boating has associated expense like every other major sports, i.e. diving, skiing or golf. BUT if it resonates with you - it becomes necessary due to it's mental and soul refreshing benefits to where it can slowly become a passion.

For me sailing is like breathing. It is hard to imagine a full week of not sailing. It is well worth the real cost. But that's me. Oakland Sailing Meetup Group provides many types of sailing events at all sorts of prices. All these fun options provides a chance to decide if you like to sail, what kind of sailing you like and if learning to sail or sail more adventurously needs to be on your list. The Wednesday night sails are only $25 to 30 for a few hours of pleasant sailing in protected waters. Sharing the costs of boat rental or use for a day on the Bay makes it affordable to sail more often. Besides - having others to share sailing with, if they know how to sail or not, simply more fun for all.
