Fort Worth Book Study (PLEASE READ DETAILS!)

  • Feb 15, 2014 · 2:30 PM

Discuss Capitalism in Cowtown!

Join us at Brewed in Fort Worth for a quasi-monthly book discussion of Ayn Rand’s Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal. We’ll be digging into the philosophical and moral roots of capitalism and applying the book’s insights to current events. The book covers topics ranging from the proper role of government to the roots of war to why modern-day “conservatives” are incapable of strongly defending capitalism. It is not necessary to attend all meetings to participate. Those wishing to participate in any particular discussion should simply read the chapters scheduled for that meeting.

For this meeting, we will read Chapter 3: America's Persecuted Minority: Big Business. If you plan to attend, please RSVP so we can make a reservation if necessary. Hope to see you there!

*Brewed stops serving brunch at 2:00pm. So if you want brunch, plan to come a bit early.

If you are new, ask the hostess for NTOS.

This was time well spent; thank you for including me! As an aside, I browsed over to amazon to pick up "Capitalism: the Unknown Ideal" and bothered to read the reviews on the other book that was mentioned during the discussion (Clue: Western Civilization's Greatest Extant Fiction). I have to agree that those reviews were epic.

I had a BLAST! Good food, too! Good to meet folks I'd never met as well as some I'd known before.

Thoughtful conversation about anti-trust law and the difference between economic power and political power.
