North Texas Objectivist Society (NTOS) Message Board › 18th NTOS Social @ the Ranch! Sat AUG 10, 2013 @ 630 pm!
Casual dress. Mingle freely. Kid's welcome! Pool open for kids!
MEET PEOPLE INTERESTED IN AYN RAND'S IDEAS!
NTOS is probably the largest and most active local Objectivist society anywhere in America. Right here in the DFW metroplex!
Now in our 9th year, we have gathered an active mailing list of over 300 members and have organized over 300 events, large and small, including social gatherings, structured discussion groups, lunches and dinners, museum trips, camping trips, etc., etc. We have also organized over 10 invited speakers.
Our largest social events are at “the Ranch” in the far north DFW area. We usually have about 25 to 50 people gathering every few weeks, including some families with children. Our participants are of all ages and come from all walks of life. All our events are welcoming and friendly. Many interactions are lighthearted, especially as some of us have come to know each other pretty well over the years. Of course, we also enjoy serious discussions. At most of our events, participants are able to mingle and discuss topics as may be mutually enjoyable.
6:30 pm until exhaustion!
Refreshments! Fruit, chips, dips and salsa! Cold beverages. BYOB or wine. Remind us to make some hot coffee, too.
Hot Food! Varies from barbecued hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, sausages, and hot dogs to baked lasagnas to smoked meats. Get the food while it is hot! We normally like to serve buffet style at around 7:30 pm. (You are welcome to come late, but after that, the food may not be so hot.)
Feel free to bring a beverage, dish, or dessert if you have something of your own you prefer or you would like to share.
If you have any dietary preferences, please let us know and we would try to accommodate you!
We have been having a great time at our social events! Plenty of time to get to know each other and for in-depth philosophical discussions, too. Please join us!
Please RSVP for each event to help us plan!
