Let's have a Greek buffet-dinner (and a few sips of wine)

Details

As the days are becoming shorter, it feels even nicer to get together for some food and a glass of wine. So how about some delicious Greek food and some excellent Greek wine?

What shall we enjoy?

We'll start with freshly baked bread and a few dips: tzatziki, fig-olive tapenade and aubergine-spicy paprika-walnut dip.

And to this, let's add the very very popular dried fig-caramelized onion-feta quiche, drizzled with balsamic glaze.

Some crispy "tiropitakia" are never out of place either.

For the main course: Soutzoukakia smyrneika, a.k.a. a sort of meatballs, they way they were prepared in the city of Smyrni, on the coast of Asia Minor. The difference between soutzoukakia and the regular meatballs is that while for the former (the meatballs or "keftedakia") grated onion is used in the minced meat, for the latter we use garlic, soak the bread in sweet wine and add cumin, both to the minced meat and the tomato sauce that goes with them --the thing that gives them the name "smyrneika".

And because we can't let all that delicious sauce go to waste, we'll have some rice with chickpeas on the side.

Plus, there will be a crispy green salad.

No dinner is complete without dessert, so our "karydopita" (a.k.a. walnut cake) will be served.

One glass of wine is included, while AK-Trade, one of our wine suppliers, will offer a tasting of Greek wines.
Extra full glasses (or whole bottles) of wine will be charged separately.

The dinner will be buffet-style: you may choose to sit (there are 14 chairs) or to mingle with the other guests and get informed on the Greek wines that will be available for tasting.
