What are your areas of interest?

Have spent life designing and building one-off scientific instruments used for geophysical research. Since computer data acquisition/control is frequently involved in these projects, I get dragged (kicking and screaming) into writing code for the hardware I've built. As one might guess, I am no natural programmer. From what I have seen already, the stripped down IDE and user friendly "driver" code sharing of the Arduino phenomenon suits my one-off needs wonderfully. A major victory for us little guys!

Working on any interesting projects at the moment?

What's your "dream project" - what would you build if you had unlimited time, skill, and resources?

Old techno-geezer. Trying, and failing, to retire. Still making one-off scientific instruments and working on a project which will surely have an Arduino heart.

What Bob S. is saying about this Meetup Group

I've been more the observer of the group as it creates a Non-profit Corp. and moves toward creating a maker place. Tim said that a possible space has been located in downtown Oly. Yeah, a few minutes from my place. But I'm not very competent at this sort of thing and am pretty much on the sidelines for now. In contrast, the Arduino offshoot looked like instant success. A small mob of folks supporting each other and lots of success all around. Lots of folks exuding "I can do this!". In my opinion, an instant Hooray!
